Diego Sodre’s Last Second Loops Choke
Diego Sodre and Kennedy Maciel had one of the wildest scraps at the 2025 IBJJF Championship.
For much of their match, Sobre was up 2-0 and was keeping Maciel in check. In the last minute, Kennedy hit a sweep to make it 2-2 and was up by one advantage.
He tried to keep the pressure on Diego, but made a critical error. As Maciel attempted to pass, Sodre started setting up a loop choke.
Kennedy fell into Sodre’s trap in the last ten seconds by attempting a pass. Maciel tried to fight it off, but he fell asleep with just two seconds left on the clock.
It was the wildest moment of the tournament and definitely helped boost Diego Sodre’s name in the BJJ world.
