Former BJJ world champion Erberth Santos was sentenced to 14 years in prison for rape and robbery. BJJ black belt Andre Pessoa was also sentenced to 8 years for theft alongside Santos but was not included in the rape charge.
The Crimes of Erberth Santos

Former world champion Erberth Santos was sentenced to more than 14 years in prison for the crimes of rape and robbery. BJJ black belt and Santos’ partner in crime, André Pessoa, was also convicted. The crimes occurred in August 2023 in the city of Tres Lagos(MS)
According to Civil Police investigations, the defendants arranged a meeting with call girls in the city.
At the residence, Erberth raped a victim and robbed the brothel with André’s help. Judge Daniel Scaramella Moreira signed the sentencing decision from the 2nd Criminal Court of Três Lagoas.
According to the complaint, the crime was committed using a lot of violence, with the victims being tied up, threatened, and attacked. Twenty-six cell phones and knives were found with the duo. Security cameras filmed the suspects’ actions at the prostitution house in Três Lagoas.
The crime occurred in August 2023 when André arranged a meeting with a call girl in Três Lagoas. At the appointed time, the defendant arrived accompanied by Erberth, who raped the woman, while the other fighter stole the belongings of the residents of the house.
The camera at the victim’s house filmed the perpetrators’ actions. In the images, you can see Erberth break into a safe, where there was around R$700. André also searched the refrigerator, apparently trying to take the object, but gave up.
The victim, who Erberth raped, also appears in the scene, half-naked and trying to talk to the attackers.

Days later, Erberth and André were arrested by the São Paulo Military Highway Police, with information from the Mato Grosso do Sul Shock Battalion, which was looking for the fighters due to crimes committed in the state.
The Sentences
For the crimes of rape and aggravated robbery, Erbert Santos was sentenced to 14 years and 23 days in prison. André Pessoa was sentenced to 8 years and 23 days for aggravated robbery.
