Interview with Olzhas Nurtakanov before ADWPJJC13

Hello Olzhas, can you please introduce yourself to our readers? 

Hello, my name is Olzhas Nurtakanov, I am a children’s Jiu Jitsu coach, a performing athlete, and a BJJ brown belt. I represent team Mario Bros BJJ Kazakhstan.

Is it your first time participating in Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu Jitsu Championship?

No, this is not my first time there. I liked my past trips and felt the organization of the championship was always at a high level.

How is your training going leading up to the ADWPJJC?

My preparation is going well, I train 2 times a day under the guidance of my coach Marat Kutzhanov (the founder of our school) and we are coming to the final days before the competition.

How did the sport of Jiu Jitsu impact you on a personal level? Why do you recommend youth to practice the sport?

Jiu Jitsu has become for me not just a sport, but a lifestyle. This is a part of me. Most of the time I am in the gym, teaching this wonderful art, studying and improving myself. It is a very effective sport that strengthens your physical condition and provides all the necessary skills for self-defense.

How do you see Abu Dhabi hosting global Jiu Jitsu championships and giving the chance for athletes to compete against the best in the world?

The World Pro always delivers a high level of competition and presents a large number of strong athlete to compete against.

Who influenced you the most in developing your BJJ game?

My coach Kutzhanov Marat helped and supported me in the study and development of Jiu Jitsu.
