Renzo Gracie On Perfecting Jiu-Jitsu
Renzo Gracie is not only a legend, but also one of the coolest and humble guys on the planet. There are certain members of the Gracie family, who feel that they’re the owners of Jiu-Jitsu. Renzo is not one of them.
During an interview with Raphaella Amorim, Renzo stated that he is not an owner of Jiu-Jitsu, but a guardian of the martial art. His goal is not to own Jiu-Jitsu, but to one day perfect it.
“You have to know that Jiu-Jitsu will never stop growing. I don’t know if you saw there, but I said you could film my entire position. Not all of the Gracie family lets you film.
They want to hide the technique. In reality, all the technique we develop, every game we study that we make and improve is not ours.
The Gracie’s do not own Jiu-Jitsu. The Gracie’s are the guardians of this incredible martial art. Our obligation is to influence Jiu-Jitsu and people that they improve too.
What’s the best way to do this? Teaching. When you teach from the heart attack d show everything you know, doubts will appear at the front for you to solve and you will have the unique opportunity to improve Jiu-Jitsu and further develop this art.
