ADCC/Flograppling Extension
The ADCC/Flograppling deal will continue for another year, as the two sides have agreed to an extension into 2026. This extension between ADCC/Flograppling has sparked a lot of discussion, as both companies have received some negative press over the last year.
Starting with the ADCC, they announced a huge deal was in the works with UFC Fight Pass last year. Then, as soon as the deal was announced, talks dissolved, and this apparent deal was never brought up again.
We recently posted the rumor of an ex-producer of the UFC allegedly propositioning Mo Jassim’s girlfriend during negotiations, but Jassim has come out to deny these rumors. Seth Daniels also commented on the story and stated that it wasn’t exactly what happened in the meeting.
Flograppling has always been a magnet for controversy, and last year was no different. New Flo GM Ben Kovacs annoyed grappling fans by announcing a “new payment plan” for subscribers other than the $150 annual subscription.
However, the new plan was marked at $12.50 monthly and was no different from the original plan. Insulting the intelligence of their subscribers was not a great way to try to improve relations.
The company also got rumors swirling about its financial health after partnering with India’s Dream Sports. Flograppling has billed this as an international expansion, but it could also signal that they couldn’t find more American investors.
With the UFC’s entry into grappling events, this could signal an uncertain future for Flo.
This one extension deal between ADCC/Flograppling seems like both sides couldn’t find any better deals. It also seems like neither side is fixing its glaring issues.
With Flo, they charge a large monthly fee for a glorified live stream that works half the time. Then, with ADCC, low athlete pay has been a big issue, which was magnified after the resurgence of CJI.
ADCC head organizer Mo Jassim also stepped down last year, and his replacement has still not been announced.
They have one year until the next championship, and with Gordon Ryan stating he will not be competing, ADCC has no stars or storylines to fill a large venue.
Unfortunately for fans, this ADCC/Flograppling extension looks like more of the same without resolving the issues of either side.
