ADCC Gi Event?
Over the weekend, former ADCC organizer Mo Jassim got the Jiu-Jitsu community talking. In an IG story, Jassim teased a possible future ADCC event featuring Gi athletes.
“I think that it is time. I am working on doing an ADCC Gi Event.”- Mo Jassim.
For anyone who hasn’t watched any past ADCC press conferences, this isn’t the first time that Jassim has talked about this project.
He has been adamant about adding a GI event to complement ADCC’s prestigious No-Gi event. Any major grappling event where the world’s top athletes can compete on a big stage and potentially win a substantial purse is always welcome.
As of now, this is all just talk from Jassim, and nothing concrete has been announced. However, we hope that a GI event hosted by the ADCC becomes a reality and gives us another big event to watch.
Hopefully, the rules will differ from the rules of IBJJF and we won’t see athletes attempt to stall for the majority of a match to win by an advantage.
