Buchecha Signs With UFC
Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida wasn’t a free agent for long, as it was recently announced that he has signed with the UFC. The BJJ legend will be making his debut at UFC Abu Dhabi against Martín Buddy(15-2) on July 26th.
Buchecha currently boasts a 5-1 record with five finishes. He joins the heavyweight division, which is arguably the weakest it has ever been.
This will give Almeida a great opportunity to quickly move up the ranks and become a top-ten ranked fighter.
However, his striking does need improvement, and he has shown that he struggles against strong wrestlers, such as Reug Reug, in his one professional loss.
His opponent, Martin Buda,y will not be a walk-through. Buday is 15-2 overall and currently 6-1 in the UFC after winning his fight on DWS.
With both heavyweights being grapplers, we’ll likely see the two lock up quickly and fight from the clinch to initiate a takedown.
