Although 2020 is still a new year, the Abu Dhabi Jiu Jitsu Pro Tour is wrapping up its 2019/2020 season with a few key tournaments.

The Final Legs of the 2019/2020 Season

The Abu Dhabi Continental Pro and the final leg of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Tour in London will lead into the Abu Dhabi World Pro Jiu Jitsu Championship. March will also be packed with two National Pro Championship events in Turkey and Morocco.

The Abu Dhabi Continental Pro will feature four simultaneous events occurring in Africa, South America, Oceania (Australia), and Europe.

Currently, there is still around a week left to register for the four events. The hosting locations include: Cape Town, South Africa  Rome, Italy, Sydney, Australia, and Gramado, Brazil.

All events will begin February 29, while the African and South American events will run until March 1.

Ranking Performance

Despite its small timeframe in the tournament season, the Continental Pro is the third most important tournament for competitors to score the highest points.

“The ranking is the fairest way of awarding the effort and the talent of each athlete that signs up to one of the AJP tournaments throughout the year,” according to the AJP Commission.

Points earned through each tournament will determine each athlete’s ranking heading into the Abu Dhabi World Pro Jiu Jitsu Championship.

“It is also a great incentive for more and more athletes to take part in as many events as they can.”

London Grand Slam Heralds ADWPJJC

A week after the Continental pro events, the final leg of the Grand Slam Tour will take place, March 7. The London leg of the Grand Slam Tour will be an important opportunity to earn points heading into the World Pro, as the second highest rank qualifying tournament in the AJP series.

The official culmination for competitors and the 2019/2020 season wrap up will be the Abu Dhabi World Pro Jiu Jitsu Championship. The event will offer double the amount of points they would have earned at the Grand Slam, which will factor into rankings for the upcoming season.

The World Pro will take place April 15, in the Mubadala Arena, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Currently, competitors still have more than a month to register for the event.
