Dean Lister’s GoFundMe For Burn Injuries
Jiu-Jitsu legend Dean Lister recently suffered a severe accident from a fire at his academy in California. His friends and family have put together a GoFundMe to help him with the medical costs.
Here’s a breakdown of what happened, directly taken from his GoFundMe page.
“Head instructor and MMA / Jiu-Jitsu legend Dean Lister was in the upstairs quarters when Victory Gym caught fire in the early morning a few weeks ago.
Thankfully, Dean escaped with his life. It was because of our brave San Diego Firefighters who were able to put the fire out, but the external and internal damage was done, and Dean lost almost everything without any coverage from insurance for him.
Three weeks later, Dean has had to overcome lung damage from smoke inhalation and is too humble to ask for help, as he is a world champion and himself a helper and leader to so many.
Many know Dean Lister from his dedication to the MMA, jiu-jitsu, and the wrestling world, or his excellence in the octagon and dedication as an instructor and coach.
Fighters will always fight regardless of temporary obstacles, but sometimes it’s ok to help our brothers when and how we can.
Any support or sharing will help this warrior while he waits for his gym to be reopened and recoup from such a terrible accident.
We thank you for your strength and support.
All proceeds will go to Dean Lister directly.”
