Gable Stevenson’s Dive Claims

Gable Steveson was recently on Ariel Helwani’s show, and he was asked about what went down between him and Craig Jones before CJI 2. Steveson claimed that he pulled out due to a toe injury, which many questioned.

On Helwani’s show, Steveson made another claim. This time, Gable is claiming that he was being paid to lose to Craig at the event.

“If you really wanna ask, there was a look in the eye saying, hey, I’m gonna retire after this match. I don’t wanna take this loss. Can you do this for me? And we’ll leave it at that.

I personally did not have any ill intentions in pulling out of this match. I stayed quiet because I’m a man. I’m not going to go out there and speak bad about somebody because something’s wrong or something didn’t go my way. I look at things in a different way.

Maybe he doesn’t because he hasn’t accomplished anything in his field; he’s lost to Gordon about three or four times.”- Gable Steveson.

Craig Jones Responds

It didn’t take much time for Craig Jones to respond to Gable Steveson’s claims. He was somewhat confused by Stevenson’s claims that the match was fixed and why he would withdraw from a fixed match.

Logically, if they weren’t having a real match, then why wouldn’t he go to the event and get paid?

So, you agreed to a “work?” But then got injured and had to pull out of a work. Make it make sense for me?”- Craig Jones.
