Garry Tonon might make his MMA debut this year sometime in March. He initially began flirting with the idea years ago. Tonon has officially been linked with the top MMA organization in Asia One Championship. Potential opponents and date for Tonon have not been discussed yet. Gary won’t be the first pure grappler to make the transition into MMA. UFC’s Demian Maia has been one of the most successful BJJ practitioners in the world of Mixed Martial Arts. It will be interesting to see if Tonon’s transition from full time grappling to MMA will be successful. He would have to train striking and adapt his Jiu-jitsu for MMA. Where he will settle for his full-time MMA training is yet to be decided. Tonon has not been linked with any MMA teams. He does, however, spend in Florida.
