Keith Krikorian Not a Fan of Moneyberg
Top grappler Keith Krikorian was recently interviewed by the Grappling Insider, and of course, they asked Keith about Derek Moneyberg. Keith has been vocal about his dislike for Derek, and he pulled no punches on his assessment of the get-rich-quick influencer.
“I don’t like his arrogance. I don’t like how he doesn’t respect us, the community. He doesn’t respect our sport.
At least not in order to do what we all know we need to do in order to obtain black belts, or even to get good at the sport, you have to train. You have to train with people you’re not paying.”-Keith Krikorian.
Keith’s opinion in this interview is shared by many within the BJJ community. To be a true Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, you have to train with others within the community and grow together.
Paying a bunch of top grapplers and MMA fighters to show you techniques without live rolling will obviously make people suspect of his true skills.
Then the lack of respect and arrogance shown by Moneyberg that he’s too good to roll with normal people creates the backlash that we’ve seen over the last few months.
It’s clear that Moneyberg never wanted to be part of the community and just wanted to buy a title.
