Kron Gracie Thinks Masters & No-Gi World Champs Aren’t World Champions
After Kron Gracie went on a rant about Tim Kennedy falsifying his military credentials on Instagram, he drew a parallel to grapplers who claim to be world champions without having won the IBJJF title at adult black belt.
He then went a step further with that common opinion to say that grapplers who won Master’s world titles and No-Gi world titles are not true world champions.
“Now that a lot is coming out about Time Kennedy and his lies, we should all be honest and know that if you won world’s at anything but the black belt adult division, you are not a world champion! Go ahead and confess now, world master’s and No-Gi worlds are not world champions.”- Kron Gracie

We will agree with Kron Gracie that too many grapplers have claimed world champion status without winning at the black belt level at the IBJJF. However, saying that No-Gi and master world champions aren’t world champions is a bit extreme.
If you go to No-Gi worlds and win at the black belt level, you’re a world champion. The same applies to winning a world championship in a master’s black belt division. You are facing the best of the best in those categories and deserve to be called a world champion.
