ADCC-UFC Deal Fallout

If you remember last year, there was a reported ADCC-UFC Deal in the works for Fight Pass to stream all future ADCC events. After this news broke, we never heard that an official deal was reached and never knew why.

On an episode of the MMA History Podcast, Ant Evans (Head of UFC media relations) explained what went down. Evans explained that it was due to an awkward exchange between a TV producer, Crowley Sullivan, and former ADCC head organizer Mo Jassim.

Sullivan was brought into the negotiation with Jassim that took place in Las Vegas. According to Evans, before the meeting, Sullivan confused Jassim’s girlfriend for a prostitute and propositioned her in front of Mo.

I don’t know, man. Like does he make an offer? Somebody tried to [proposition] my girlfriend in front of me for money. I probably wouldn’t want to be in business with them anymore. And that’s what happened.”- Ant Evans.

Needless to say, the announced ADCC-UFC Deal was never finalized, and we never heard about it again. This rumor for why the deal fell through hasn’t been confirmed by other sources, but Crowley Sullivan’s now ex-wife(Kit Hoover) did file for divorce that year. (source)
