Roger Gracie covers some of the key concepts in the mount position. Some of the more essential ideas which he talks about are low mount position, high mount, feet placement, hip control, transitioning from offense/defense, and defending the bridge.

Mount is a tricky position and if you don’t have the proper technique to maintain control of your opponent you will lose it quickly.

Gracie talks about the importance of controlling your opponent’s hips in the low mount. Another significant component is prioritizing offense and defense.

While in the mount the number one task should be establishing control and then focusing on the attack.
