Claudia do Val – “Follow your dreams”

Last updated on 19.11.2020 by

Hello Claudia, can you please tell us a little bit about yourself?

My name is Claudia do Val, I’m 31 years old, born and currently living in Brazil.

How and when did you get involved in BJJ?

I started training judo in 2006 because my little brother was training, and then at some point, I decided to do jiujitsu to improve my ground game for judo but then ended up doing only Jiu Jitsu.

What do you consider to be your greatest BJJ achievement?

I believe winning three world titles at the black belt level at the IBJJF is my greatest achievement so far.

Which fight will you remember forever? Who was the opponent?

honestly, I remember every single one of my fights and all my opponents.

You like to travel a lot, so can you tell us about your favorite travel experience? Maybe somewhere you held a seminar or competition?

I do travel a lot, but I wouldn’t say I like traveling, I do it because it’s my job. Obviously I have some nice experiences along the way, I meet a lot of people, but it’s a lot of stress and I rarely get time to explore and see the new places.

Are you going to teach any camp in 2020?

Only one planned so far. But I’m always open for camps, I think they are more fun than seminars only.

How do you see Jiu Jitsu in 10 years from now?

I honestly wouldn’t know how to answer that. The only thing I believe is that Jiu Jitsu is growing a lot, so hopefully, there will be more and more people doing it.

Can you tell us more about your daily routine and diet?

I don’t really have a daily routine because I’m always traveling, so I can’t really maintain a routine. Some weeks I’m in 5 different cities in only 7 days.

What else do you love to do outside of the mat?

I like watching movies, series, playing games.

Can you share some advice for our readers?

I think always follow your dreams instead of someone else’s (parents, friends, partners).
