Iceberg vs. The Walrus: Who Will Win and Why It Might Actually Happen

Last updated on 24.06.2023 by

Billionaire Elon Musk is no stranger to causing social media firestorms. From launching a Tesla Car into space to his controversial acquisition of Twitter, Elon has proven time and time again that he is no stranger to stirring the pot. Now, his latest Twitter thread might have landed him in a cage fight with fellow Billionaire Mark Zuckerberg.

Rumors about Meta (Facebook’s parent company) starting a platform to rival Twitter led Musk to tweet, “I’m up for a cage match.” To which later Zuckerberg cheekily responded, “Send me Location” quoting UFC star Khabib Nurmagomedov.  Hours later, Elon said simply, “Vegas Octagon,” and news went dark, leaving readers to wonder if it was real.

Could it Really Happen?

Most people were skeptical at first. While it might seem like a fun idea, rarely do spectacles like this ever really amount to anything. Why would someone like Elon, who has a reputation for hard work, risk leaving the office over something like this? However, the most shocking voice to join the conversation was UFC president Dana White.

“I spent about an hour and a half with each of them on the phone last night,” Dana said in an exclusive interview with TMZ. He also went on to say that he thought it would be the most watched fight in the history of the world, and that it might triple the views of Mayweather Vs. Connor.

White also said that both “potential” combatants talked about donating the proceeds to charity.

Who Would Win?

Zuck vs Musk

The cage fight comes on the heels of a story where Mark Zuckerberg competed in his first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Tournament. He won gold and silver medals and apparently has been training for around 18 months. “He takes his Jiu Jitsu training seriously,” said Dana White in the same interview.

Elon’s Past Challenges

While Elon says he trained in martial arts when he was younger, he doesn’t have any current or up-to-date training. However, this is far from the first time Elon has proposed a cage match with anyone. You might remember when Russia invaded Ukraine. Elon was bold enough to challenge Vladimir Putin to single combat for the right to Ukraine.

BJJ, Tae Kwon Do, and 10th Planet black belt Joe Rogan even offered to train Elon for the fight, pending Vladimir Putin’s acceptance. If the famous UFC commentator were to train Elon for a match with Zuckerberg, who is to say?

Despite not having any formal training Musk jokingly tweeted out later that he has a move called “The Walrus.” Where he sits on an opponent and then does nothing. The joke is extra funny if you are familiar with photos that leaked of Elon Musk on a yacht outside the Greek island of Mykonos.

Conclusion:

While no one actually knows if these two tech titans will clash in the cage, they most certainly will be clashing in the market. Rumors are spreading of Zuckerberg unveiling a new social media site to compete with Twitter. Codenamed “P92” Zuckerberg may be planning to capitalize on advertisers that left Twitter when Musk took the company over.
