Bruno ‘’bad boy’’ Malfacine has signed his first major international MMA contract with Brave Combat Federation. The contract includes a three-fight deal with Malfacine’s first fight scheduled for April 13 at Brave 11.
The ‘’bad boy’’ is one of the best Jiu-Jitsu practitioners to ever compete in BJJ. He has won 9 IBJJF World Championships, and 4 Pan American Championships.
Malfacine began his MMA journey in August of 2017 with a submission victory over Romario Boaes at Shooto Brazil 74. Not surprising considering his high submission rate during his BJJ career. Hopefully, it will follow him into MMA.
In an interview with MMA, Fighting Malfacine said: “After a few weeks of negotiation, we have come to an agreement and the contract was signed, I’m really happy because it’s a very important step in this new career as an MMA fighter. I have a great team by my side and they are giving me all the tools that I need so my career in MMA is as successful as my career in jiu-jitsu, and I have no doubts that we’re going in the right direction.”
“My idea is to fight three times this year, and Brave has promised me that if I’m healthy, they will give me this opportunity. My debut will be on April 13 in Belo Horizonte, and I can’t wait to fight in my country one more time.”
If he is successful during his stay with the Brave organization his dream of signing with the biggest company in MMA, the UFC, might come true, sooner than later. This is what he had to say about his desire on fighting in the UFC.
”My goal is to get to the UFC,” Malfacine said. “When I decided to fight MMA I decided to be the best, as I did in jiu-jitsu. I’m not in MMA to be just one more guy. Of course that I want to enter the UFC, but I want to be ready to make history when I get there. I’m not in a hurry. I’m not doing this for status or money, I’m doing this for the challenge, to become the best in the world.’’
Brave CF 11 will take place in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
